The Effect of Transfer Factor and BCG On Tuberculosis..

📖 The Effect of Transfer Factor and BCG On Tuberculosis..

Tuberculosis (TB) is one of the most prevalent cause of death due to a single pathogen. Bacillus Calmette Gu?rin (BCG) is the only vaccine available for clinical use that protects against miliary TB; however, this vaccine has shown variable levels of efficacy against pulmonary TB. TF is very effective in those diseases in which CMI plays a relevant role in protection and control of the disease, such as intracellular bacterial diseases (tuberculosis). Transfer factors are polypeptides extracted from the leukocytes of animals that have developed immunity to a certain infection. Transfer factors are not species-specific, thus transfer factors produced by a cow's immune system are just as effective in humans as they are in the cow. Immune agents may be our new defenses against M. tuberculosis that no longer responded to multi drug resistant M. tuberculosis (MDR-TB). The results of this research indicated that administration of murine transfer factor (mTF)) as immunotherapy for challenged mice of MTB (H37Rv) showed a better results compared with the efficacy of BCG vaccine single and booster doses.
