📖 Slaughterhouse Angels

The HUMAN DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION's Mercy Center was established 1973 in Bangkok's slaughterhouse district. It is home to about 200 street children, orphans, and children living with HIV as well as a kindergarten and pre-school. Spending two months a year in the center over the last four years, photographer Vanessa von Zitzewitz has documented the children's struggles and joys in her moving black and white images. This book is a tribute to the Center's founder, Father Joseph H. Maier, and his work over the past 36 years. Text in English
