The book is devoted to traditional pottery, the people's favorite kind of decorative and applied art. It contains unique and interesting facts about the well-known ancient craft centers, separate almost forgotten handicraft industries, leading Russian production enterprises of the second half of the 20th century and modern developing centers of pottery. The book also presents works of a number of modern potters who are true to the traditions of the art of pottery.
