Adeline Virginia Woolf (1882-1941) was an English writer and literary critic, the leading figure of the modernist literature of the first half of the twentieth century. She also was part of a group of English intellectuals, writers, and artists, graduates of Cambridge, called the Bloomsbury group. "Jacob's Room" is a novel that tells the story of a young man Jacob Flanders. The plot describes his life through a series of scenes, starting with his childhood, then studying at Cambridge, love adventures in London, travels to Europe, all up to his death in the war.
